The birth of a team
Steven, Dominiek and Peter were each on there own for more then 10 years active in the mountainbike sport. End of 2001 the 3 friends, bitten by the mountainbike virus, made the ambitious plan to race the Crocodile Trophy in Australia.
This 2-week ‘Paris-Dakar’ from the mountainbike is a real survival and to bring the adventure to a happy end took a lot of courage, stamina, a decent preparation and the support of many. Specially for this race, the Reevax MTB Racing Team was founded and has grown to what it is today: a unique, Belgian amateur-mountainbike-team.
From the start on we have put our goals exceptionally high, not only on the sportive side but also on the organisational side. Small and larger companies believed in the Reevax-concept and thanks to these partners it was possible to establish and grow the team. A sparkling and never seen before in the mtb-world website was from the start the team's signboard.
Due to publicity, interest of the press and public relations in general the Reevax name was quickly spread. Thanks to the never ending efforts Reevax has, in only 3 years, become a reference in the mountainbike world and beyond.
There is certainly no lack of experience in the team. Each of us has been active in marathons and stage-races for several years, as well in Belgium as abroad. The team was already 21x successful in the worlds toughest stage races. The close bond between the teammembers is formed by a common interest in adventure, long-distance mountainbike races and new extreme challenges. As long as it includes suffering ! Our motto:
“Longer, Harder, Tougher”
The meaning of Reevax
When the team was founded we searched, like a good father, for an appropriate name for our team. After countless proposals and hours of discussion the team was called 'Reevax Croco Racing Team'.
Reevax ...
- has no meaning
- is easily pronounced
- sounds international
and is synonymous for...
... a unique, Belgian, amateur mountainbike team !
The Reevax Ethos
Why do we do all this? Why, next to the sportive, all these extra-sportive things? What drives a Reevaxer to spend his last free minute?
The answers to these questions have led to the Reevax ethos, the commandments to which a Reevaxer lives up to:

Next to the pure sportive side, we also want to promote the mountainbike
sport in general as much as possible

But especially Reevax wants to have fun with a hobby that got out of
control !
