We want to wish you all the best for the new year, as well on social, professional; personal and of course sportive level. But especially a good health !
Great parties and a prosperous 2010 !
It starts to become a Reevax tradition to end the season with the Roc d'Azur at the French mediterenean coast. Not hard to understand: beautiful weather, magnificent technical courses and an event that puts 15000 bikers and 23 races in 1 long weekend. Nice atmosphere guaranteed!
Add on top of that an excellent 9th and 11the place for Pepe and Pat in the masters-2 category of the marathon, and Kroki who finishes his first full marathon in 7 years and you just have a superweek and super season's end! Read more...
Last saturday Reevax travelled to Sankt Wendel ofr the general repetition of next year's World Championships MTB Marathon. There was a big question mark whether the legs had recovered well from the 160 km race in Bouillon less then a week ago. Pepe definitely had good legs, as he worked himself once more up to the 2nd place in the seniors-2 category. For Pat it didn't work at all, and he had to rely on his deepest character and perseverance to finish in 15th place in the seniors-2 category. Kroki choose the 53 km distance and finished in 33th place in the seniors-1 catgeory. Read more...
In the historic setting of the might castle of Godefroy of Bouillon, a few hunderd bike-knights gathered last sunday to cross their swords and battle for honour, glory, grace of the younladies and... a handful scoops of ice-cream in a mountainbike-battle with the heroic name: Le Grand Raid Godefroy.
The organisation also joined the battle by double-crossing the knights as much as possible during their crusade. Despite this Pepe and Pat succeeded in dragging a 2nd and 3rd place from the dark woods, which made the youngladies and the icecream scoops their price. Read more...
THe sandy course of the Bank1Saar marathon in Sankt Ingbert is known for its short but steep climbs (every single one over 20%), kilometers singletrails, a dozen technical dowhills, a large batch of roots and a course that doesn't suffer from heavy rain. An ideal playground for Reevax.
Three Reevaxers at the start, Pat en Pepe on the full distance of 95 km, Kroki at the half distance. Apparently we have a subscription on the 2nd and 3rd place as that is once more where Pepe and Pat finished. Kroki did it easy and finished 43th. Read more...
Last weekend one of the Belgian classics, the Houffa marathon, was on the menu. Reevax rarely misses one of the classics and so we headed down to Houffalize for this one as well.
Pepe, Pat and Zoef already headed for Houffalize on friday evening to enjoy an sun drenched weekend, Kroki did not completely recover yet from his flu and stayed wisely at home. But also in Houffalize: a whole gang of supporters that cheered Pepe and Pat to a 2nd and 5th place respectively in the masters category. Read more...
Last weekend Reevax was active in the Sigma Sport marathon in Neustand an der Weinstrasse (Germany). With 100 km, 2300 meters of climbing, many singletrails roots and rocks, this is often considered as Germany's most beautiful and most technical marathon.
No there this weekend: Kroki, at home in bed with the flu. To everybody's surprise MarV proposes to ride with Kroki's startnumber. And even bigger surprise when he manages to complete the 53 km distance succesfully. In the mean time Pepe and Pat were fighting themselves to a 2nd and 5th place in the masters cetagory. This evening the complete Reevax team leaves to the 2nd big goal of this year : the Bike Challange in Poland !
515 km and 14500 meters of climbing have to be conquered in 8 stages over the technical singletrails along the Polish-Tsjech border.
The coming weeks we will try to bring daily reports and photos from the Bike Challenge, so you can follow the race with all details from home. This news page will not be daily updated , you can find all details about the Bike Challenge here !
In the past we have experienced already how tough the Erbeskopf marathon is. THe climb to the Erbeskopf itself is the least of the problems, the continuous succesion of bad rolling grass sections, singletrails covered with roots and steep climbs through the forests demand a lot of energy.
Pepe finishes on a 9th place in the seniors2 category of the 110 km distance, Kroki crosses the finish line in 62th place of the seniors1 category of the 65km distance. Read more...
After forgetting to register with a fully booked Erbeskopfmarathon as a consequence, Pat had to look for an alternative: the Raid des Chantoires in our own Ardennes. The nightly rain brought also lots of mud, exactly as Pat likes it !
After 96 km, 2200m of climbing, magnificent singletrails and a couple of wron-way-sections, Pat finishes as 6th overall and as 1st master2. Read more...
This evening the complete Reevax team leaves to the TransGermany race. 660 km and 15300 vertical meters have to be conquered from the start in Erbach im Odenwald on the west-side of Germany to Seiffen at the German-Tsjech border. Pat and Pepe will defend the Reevax colors in the race, Zoef will take care of them and Kroki provides the technical assistence. Marv will hunt down the most spectacular photo's.
The coming week we will try to bring daily reports and photos from the TransGermany, so you can follow the race with all details from home. This news page will not be daily updated , you can find all details about the TransGermany here !
Pepe and Pat get a 123 km course with 3549 meters of climbing, while Kroki goes for the short version of 51 km and 1467 meters of climbing. While in previous years the course in Willingen consisted mainly of gravel roads, this year they have given Willingen the course it deserves ! Wit a lot of variation, technical as well as physical hard sections, somewhat for every mountainbiker !
And with a 5th and 8th place in the masters category Pepe and Pat finisht in a nice place, while the 139th pace of Kroki indicated that he is getting better week after week. Read more
The Hagelandse Chrono is a home game for Reevax, as the course lies practically in our own back yard. It is however not an easy one, as the course builders find each year new singletrails and new hills to add to the course. And over the years these have become many, that follow each other in a killing rate. Addto that the startnumber effect - tick tock tick tock, the clock is ticking - and you really have to pace yourself not to drop dead after 20km... Read more
Orscholz, a little village in the German Saarland, sitting on top of the valley of the Saar river. Once a year the vilage is flooded with mountainbikers riding the supersteep slopes of the Saar valley. With a course with fast gravel raods, beatiful forest paths and technical singletrails and magnificent summer weather all ingredients were present for a succesful bike weekend. Pepe takes it up another step when he took the 3rd place in the seniors2 category. Read more
The Chemin dus Soleil - a race for duo team with a 60 km stage on saturday, a 40 km night stage and a 75 km stage on sunday with only a few hours between stages - was already for a long time on the Reevax to-do list, and this year we finally managed to do it. After a somewhat less good first stage where Pat and Pepe lost each other, they straightened everything in the night stage and the closing stage, with a 12th place in the overal ranking. Read more
Last weekend Reevax was present in La Grande Traversée du Limousin, a 3-day stage race in central France. A warming spring sun and a course that resembled our own Ardennes, were the most important ingredients of the weekend.
Pepe succeeds in winning 2 stages and the general classification in the masters-2 category, Pat finishes 7th in that same category. Kroki occupies 40th place in the general classification of the masters-1 category. Read more
The past weekend the complete Reevax team was present in the Megasports Bike Marathon in Sundern/Hagen. With 100 km split in 2 laps across the mountains of Hochsauerland, a warm sun and summer temperatures, all ingredients were present for a succesful weekend. And with over 1000 starters for the marathon race, there was no lack of competition either.
Pepe finishes in a nice 6th place in the seniors2 category, while Pat finishes not much later in 9th place. Kroki had to abandon the race after a mechanical failure. Read more
The past couple of months it was quiet on this site, but this is about to change. The race season has started, and winter time is over. This weekend the complete Reevax team was at the start of the estafette race in Bladel (NL) for a 4h solo-ride. The course is fun with many curvy singletrails between the trees, once in a while a straight section and de double "climb" of the Pals bridge across the highway. And with a nice and warm sun, the day is perfect.
After 4h of hard work, Pepe and Pat finish 9th and 10th, while Kroki finishes on a 31st place. Read more
THe most important events of the Reevax calander 2009 are fixed. The first target this year will be the Chemins du Soleil, where Pat and Pepe will attack the French singletrails as a team. This is followed by the Trans Germany, which is an individual race this year, and then in the summer there is the Mountainbike Challenge in Poland, where Pat and Pepe once more hook up as a team to defend the Masters category. The rest of the season is then filled up with mainly 1-day marathons to get a nice and full calender. The full race calender can be found on this page !
Last saturday Reevax was at the start of their first race of this season: the 6h race in Halle. For Patje a home race, enough reason for the other Reevaxers to start as well. After 6h doing laps, Pepe succeeded in claiming the 2nd place, Patje the 4th place and Kroki the 21st place.
The Reevax website moved yesterdaty to a new webserver with more webspace. Not everything is operational yet (for example the contact pages are not working yet), but we hope to fix these in the next week.
The many training rides during the long, dark winterevenings and the night races will beco,e a lot more enjoyable with the Ay Up bike lights. Lightweight, waterproof and indestructable, with of course a high light output and a long bruning time are the perfect specifications for a MTB light set.
When customs cooperates a bit, our Ay Up lights will be at the start of the 6h of Halle.
Race wise it might be windstill, but behind the scenes there is a lot of activity going on. Domie was the past year almost continuously on the road for his job, and this will be the same this year. Instead there will be 2 new Reevaxers: Patrik Wouters and Zoef will defend the Reevax colors this year. While Pat is racing his ass off, his wife Zoef will be ready with fresh drinking bottles once in a while. We will also see Kroki regularly at the starting line again, not yet for all races or the longest distances. And also Marv will be there again to catch the best moments with his camera.
The race calender is taking its final shape, and will be revealed shortly. The Reevax premiere for Pat and Zoef will be next week already, with the 6h of Halle.
